ZHAO Danpei

Associate Professor, School of Astronautics, Beihang University

Biography

I am an Associate Professor and a Ph.D. Supervisor at the Department of Aerospace Information Engineering, Beihang University.

I obtained the Ph.D. degree in optical engineering from Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, CAS, in 2006. From 2006 to 2008, I was at Beihang University for postdoctoral research. From 2014 to 2015, I was working at the Department of Computer Science, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA, as a Visiting Scholar. I lead the AIRVIC Lab.

Research Team

AIRVIC Laboratory is dedicated to advancing fundamental and applied research in machine intelligence, computer vision, remote sensing image processing, space object detection and emboddied AI. Our mission is to push the boundaries of multimodal perception for autonomous systems and Earth observation.

We foucs on:

  1. Automatic detection and recognition of objects in remote sensing images.
  2. Advancement of space-based image information processing technologies.
  3. High-speed embedded systems for real-time image processing.
